The Phi Delta Chi chapter at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Pharmacy is proud to open registration for our first 5K Run/Walk! Join us on April 14, 2013 at Montrose Harbor in Chicago and help us raise money to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Location: Humboldt Park/Logan Square, 1400 N. Sacramento Ave., Chicago, IL 60622
Join us as we celebrate the 43rd Anniversary of Earth Day on Saturday, April 27th, 2013 by a participating in a 5K Run/Walk, Neighborhood Clean Up and Green Festival. The festivities kick off with a 5K for Earth Day at 9 a.m. followed by a day-long celebration with family entertainment, environmental education, and a farmers market. The course takes runners and walkers along the historic boulevards of Logan Square and Humboldt Park. This “Chip” timed race is fast and flat with an aid station at the 1.5 mile mark. Participants who have small children are welcome to bring strollers. (No In-line skates, Bicycles or Pets are allowed)

Breaking out of the cycle of poverty through education is the most effective way to create lasting change in the lives of children. Real change is only possible if someone takes action. We hope to give children, living in the worst conditions imaginable, an opportunity to change their own future. Our goal is to help start an Education Endowment that will provide the room and board necessary for these children to attend High School, a (4) hour walk from their village. The money raised will help run a dormitory, built and operated by Faith in Action, that provides a safe, clean place for these mountain children to live, study and be loved as they attend High School and work to transform the future direction of their lives.
